A British born artist, Ian Boyle worked on a number of projects on the UK and created various sculptural walls, seats, shelters in the South Yorkshire area and Isle of Harris,  UK.

This was followed by an exhibition at Sheffield Millenium Gallery about the Woods of the City, while the Tobhta Stone Shelter / Performance Space was constructed in Glen Howe Park, Sheffield , (Yorkshire Arts Award Funded)

After his move to New Zealand in 2005, Boyle constructed The Stan seat/ shelter , BOP Polytechnic , (a Creative NZ funded project.) Mountain Pose on exhibition at Brick Bay Sculpture Trail. Aspiring , Hawkeye and The Soul Miners Hut were shown in various exhibitions at Waitakaruru Sculpture Park, Waikato. (Aspiring (2010) won the Henry Hesketh People’s Choice Award) Harmony was exhibited at Sculpture on the Shore in 2010 while Laboratory was exhibited at Sculpture on the Shore 2012.
